Welcome to the Town of Fairfield!

Fairfield, Utah, boasts a rich historical tapestry woven with the pioneering spirit of its early settlers, who established the town in the early 1850s.  Several men on horseback observed a spring and the level meadows in the Cedar Valley and determined this would be a good location for a settlement.  Among the scouts was a man named Amos Fielding.  A site was laid out and named Fairfield because of its pleasant situation and in honor of Amos Fielding who had chosen the location.  The meadow land was then divided into fields and water from the spring was apportioned for farms.

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Utah County, Fairfield offers a serene escape from the bustle of city life. Its economy, rooted in agriculture and ranching, underscores the town's deep connection to the land, with residents actively engaged in farming, livestock raising and a large producer of a beef and pork Co-op. Fairfield has a wide variety of outdoor recreation including horse boarding that specializes in olympic sport dressage, a small airpark,  home to the livestock used in the Circle J Rodeo,  a Large firework manufacturer and many other thriving businesses.  More than half of Fairfield Town's residents own their own business.

While Fairfield may be small in population, its sense of community is vast and vibrant. Residents actively participate in local events, foster strong neighborly bonds, and take pride in their town's rural charm. The town's educational needs are met by the Alpine School District while ensuring that young minds in Fairfield receive quality education.

Visitors to Fairfield are greeted not only by its scenic beauty but also by a palpable sense of tranquility and hospitality by visiting our camp Floyd Museum, our historical school house or 1 of our historical cemeteries.  Outdoor enthusiasts can explore nearby walking trails, indulge in hiking adventures, have close access to BLM 5 mile pass recreation area or simply revel in the unhurried pace of life that defines this charming Utah town.
